A tribute to Dave Hartwig
11/09/1945- 17/07/2022
MATAMA members were dealt a cruel blow when news filtered through Sunday morning, that our great mate, Dave Hartwig, had passed away Saturday 16th July after a short stay in hospital.
To mention Dave was "passionate" about MATAMA is to say the least.
A long time member of the club, he very rarely missed a club meeting or rally and was always there to lend a hand with fundraising & community events.
Dave played an active role, helping with salvage efforts after the 2019 fires destroyed MATAMA clubhouse. Dave was "hands on" with restoration progress on engines recovered from the fires.
Dave enjoyed having a yarn with his mates, he was well respected throughout the vintage engine community for his knowledge and skill and his dedication to restoring preserving and showcasing antique machinery.
We say farewell to Dave Hartwig, who will be sorely missed by his mates, but never forgotten.
MATAMA wish extend our deepest sympathies to Dave Hartwig's family at this sad time.
